Media FAM Trip Day 2 & Day 3 – Legoland, Hello Kitty Town, Senibong Seafood, Sky Screen JB, Eco Tourism and JPO

To be honest, to balance between my production house (need any photography or video production do let me know) and my social media work is never be an easy work. Especially when I have to travel around but I really glad that my staff are always very supportive. This post is basically a recap what I did when I was in Johor Bharu for Media FAM trip last week.

Top : @ProjekTravel
Pouch : PUMA Faas
Shoes : PUMA Suede

Day one recap: HERE
Huge thanks to MawardiProjek Travel and Toursim Malaysia for the opportunity.

The main highlight of the entire trip basically is on the second day. We are here for the launch of Ninja Go Shadow show from Legoland. Basically, this is the new attraction from Legoland. I’m really excited to share with you guys on my next post.
Say hello to the Ninja Go mascot.
Since our trip in Legoland end early, we manage to slot in Hello Kitty Town as part of our itinerary. Since is just located a stone throw away, why not? I’m huge fan of cat and this cuteness is overload… I can’t take it. I have to control myself because I’m a guy hahaha
I will talk more about Hello Kitty Town on my next post.
Senibong seafood is something that you must consider if you are seafood lover. Not to mention I frequently came here with my family whenever I went back to my hometown. Yes, now you know I’m a Johorean. This photo is taken from where I sit. So, basically this is your view while having fresh seafood.

I will talk more about Senibong seafood on my next post.

They said last dinner must be great. Let’s the photo do the talking.
We saw this beautiful jetty and we decided to give a quick photoshoot. Basically you can see Singapore from here.
As photographer cum to traveler, photoshoot is a must. Especially when I see nice spot and having sporting colleague. Let me introduce you to our new friends from Tourism Johor, @lady.emy and @Diyanazakariadz
Last group photo.

On our way back to our hotel, we drop by to Sky Screen JB.

It’s a new attraction especially if you have nothing to do at night. Just be careful with the cars. If Putrajaya have the colourful bridge at night, JB have this.

Right after our quick visit to sky screen JB, everyone went back to the hotel but I went back home. Some of the other media went to Baazar Karat.

The next day, after we check out from Thistle Hotel, we went to Kampung Sungai Melayu. Kg Sg Melayu to experience their Eco Tourism. It’s really interesting but I won’t tell you now what we do and what we see. You have to wait on my next post.
On our way back to Putrajaya, we went to JPO (Johor Premium Outlet). Countless.. how many time I have been here. 10 minutes away from my house.

So we end up having Starbucks and I bought some stuff from Puma.

They said life as photographer is boring.

Nothing, just want to show you what does Canon 16-35mm f2.8L can do.

Once in awhile give a photographer selfie with pretty girl can ah?

What We Do in Johor Bharu – Media FAM Trip Day 1

I was staying in Resort Suites Sunway over the weekend for hotel interior photo shooting. My colleagues and I decided to spend another night in Resort Suites and going to Putrajaya on the next day.
On the next day, I was overslept and rushing down to my studio, CVS Production for a quick documentation and packing before I heading down to Ministry of Tourism in Putrajaya to catch up with the rest of the media.
Upon arrival, I only found out that Mawardi and I are the only blogger who join this Media FAM trip. The rest of them are from mainstream media and travel magazine. Thank you Mawardi, Projek Travel and Toursim Malaysia for the opportunity.
The journey from Putrajaya to JB (Johor Bharu) took almost 5 hours. The first thing we do once we reach JB is having our lunch at 7 (Spice located in Danga Bay JB). Well, as Johorean myself, I never been here before. The only reason because of my family are not really into Indian cuisine. The spices are originally came from India.
I will talk more about 7 Spice on my next post.
Right after we had our lunch, we went to Thistle hotel in JB to have a quick view what the room that available and of course to check in. For those who living in JB, they will know that this hotel used to be Hyatt hotel back then. This 5 star hotel became our house for the next 3 days.

I will talk more about Thistle Hotel on my next post.

Since we are behind of our schedule, we straight heading down to Angry Birds Activity Park in Komtar JB. Well, to be honest this is my first time came to Komtar after they did a renovation. I always wanted to check out their Angry Birds park and guess what? I’m here!

I will talk more about Angry Birds Activity Park on my next post.

On our way back to hotel, we drop by to Pisang Goreng Mawar where it just located near our hotel. This is one of the famous snack “warung” for those who want to take a bite.
I will talk more about Pisang Goreng Mawar on my next post.
Right after we had our high-tea, we went back to hotel to fresh up before going out for a dinner at Tera Thai Fine Dine Restaurant. Now you know why my diet fail? Trust me, I try to eat less but the food was so good.

I will talk more about Tera Thai Fine Dine Restaurant on my next post.

So, we have 2 more more location before we call it a day. We went down to Taman Merdeka Musical Fountain. Basically this is the new hang out spot for those who want to enjoy their beautiful and colorful Musical Fountain.

I will talk more about Taman Merdeka Musical Fountain on my next post.

Our last stop is Kilang Bateri. Basically this place used to be factory that produce a battery. The new owner have take over this place and transform this place into hipster hang out spot. Basically all the hipster store and cafe are located under one roof. Not to mention they do have skate park too.

I will talk more about Kilang on my next post.

So, that’s the wrap for day one. Stay tuned for the day two.

Air Katira Abu Bakar Johor – The famous Air Katira in Malaysia

Today is the last Ramadhan of the year. Since I just got back, I brought my parents  to Johor Bharu for the last minute shopping. It’s good to see their happy face.

When it comes to Ramadhan, Air Katira Abu Bakar is something that you can’t miss it. They only run their business during Ramadhan and guess what? Some people came all the way from Singapore and Kuala Lumpur just to get their Air Katira. According to them la… For me, they do have the unique taste and it worth if you stay around Johor Bharu but not drive all the way from Kuala Lumpur or Singapore.

Photos taken with HTC One M9 Plus

It comes with two different packaging. RM12 per bottle or RM4 for the small packaging. If you see some of the Air Katira Abu Bakar at the baazar, mostly they are genuine since they do have few supplier around Johor Bharu.

According to them, if you put in the fridge it can last up to one year. You can get from a normal Bazaar Ramadhan for RM4.50 (small packaging). Make sure the packaging have Abu Bakar logo to make sure it is the original Air Katira Abu Bakar.

So, what’s so special about this Air Katira? According to them, they used original recipes from their late father (prepared by the family member in order to maintain their quality and secret) and they used up to 8 ingredients:

1) Buah Semangkuk
2) Buah Kurma
3) Buah Badam
4) Buah Kabung
5) Kismis
6) Kathira
7) Agar-agar
8) Biji Selasih
