  • Kasut Raya Murah dan Berkualiti di Bata Malaysia #BataRaya2017

Tak lama lagi kita akan menyambut Hari Raya. Korang dah beli Kasut Raya? Hari tu ada pergi Midvalley nak cari persiapan raya sebab tak nak last minute beli barang raya.

Apa lagi?!! Nak jimat kan… so, terus serbu Bata Midvalley. Biasalah, orang baru kawen. So kena lah simpan duit nak Raya.

Korang mesti ingat Bata ni cuma kedai untuk kasut sekolah kan? Well, personally I can’t blame you on that. I pun dulu fikir macam tu. Ye lah dah lebih 20 tahun beli barang Bata untuk kasut sekolah. Bukan je murah tapi berkualiti.
Rupa rupanya Bata ni ada macam macam. Dari kasut sukan, sandal sehingalah ke kasut kulit. Made in Italy uoollssss.
Tapi dengar kata collection Italy ni cuma ada kat beberapa lokasi je. Dekat major mall. Bila dapat tengok Kasut Kulit, mata terus terbeliak. Yelah.. I’m personally love kasut kulit.
Bahagian kasut lelaki. Kalau korang nampak, bukan je kasut kulit yang diorang ada. Ada kasut sukan, sandal, dan macam macam lagi. So, for lelaki yang simple macam I ni, I will go for sandal for this coming Raya. Senang nak masuk rumah orang. Main sarong je.
Bahagian kasut perempuan. Tak nak cakap banyak. Cukuplah korang terus pergi kat tempat duduk. Confirm yang perempuan akan ambik banyak masa nak cari kasut diorang. Sebab apa? Sebab banyak gila pilihan. Cantik cantik pulak tu.
Last last I choose juga kasut leather made in Italy ni. Bukan je selesa tapi original full leather dari Italy. Sedap di pakai. Boleh la jadi kasut Raya & kasut kerja. My wife, dia pilih white color. Sebab nak match kan dengan baju Raya kitorang. Baju Raya kitorang warna apa? Jangan tanya.
Promosi sehingga 24 Jun 2017, tetapi baucar sah sehingga 2 Julai 2017.

Heart Health Challenge – Malaysian’s Lack of Healthy Lifestyle?

Hey guys, do you think you are healthy enough? If you had to ask me, I would say I’m not! I just started to hit my gym routine again and I definitely can see I’m lack of stamina. Previously (a year ago) I can just simply workout an hour a day. Unfortunately due to accident, I stop my workout. Now, I’m starting to hit gym again and I felt I’m way behind.
What I saw in Malaysia, we had a busy lifestyle and our food culture are not so healthy. Not to mention Mamak most of the time and we are lack of awareness when it comes to healthy lifestyle. One of the main issue that Malaysian face is Heart Disease. Heart disease is usually suffered by people in their 30s if they did not practice healthy lifestyle.

One study found that women who increased their step count to nearly 10,000 steps a day reduced their blood pressure after 24 weeks. I always practice 5K steps in the gym early the morning.

Every 15 minutes, there was one death due to heart disease in Malaysia. High cholesterol remains one of the main risk factors that contribute to the development of heart disease. 2015 National Health and Morbidity Survey also revealed that 1 out of 2 adults in Malaysia having high cholesterol and 42% of Malaysians who have high cholesterol are under the age of 40 years.
Heart health care must start from now! Do not wait until it’s too late guysss!
The heart of holistic health management includes a balanced diet, physical activity and health checks. I always drink milk (daily) because Nestle Omega Plus have sterols that can help lower cholesterol.
THE KEY TO MANAGE HEART HEALTH

    1. Physical activity
    – Aim to do some form of physical activity every day. [American Heart Association]
    – Incorporate moderate activity and rugged thirty minutes a day, five times a week.
    – Do whatever makes your body moving and burn calories topic considered physical activity. Walking is a good way to improve heart health.
    2. Health screening
    – Even if you guys do not have any heart issues, it is important not to miss a heart health check with a doctor you guys.
    – Ask questions about blood pressure, cholesterol, heart rate, blood sugar and weight to the doctors so that we are more aware about the health of our body.
    3. A balanced diet
    – Eat a balanced diet – At the dinner table, fill half your plate with vegetables and fruits and take milk with added plant sterols to block the absorption of cholesterol into the bloodstream.
    – Plant sterols are considered as the single most effective foods that can reduce cholesterol as part of a healthy diet and lifestyle.
    – Plant sterols are found in small amounts in many grains, vegetables, fruits, legumes, nuts, and seeds.
    – However you guys might need to eat large amounts of cholesterol affect you guys. Want more fun, with Nestle Omega Plus, you guys just need to drink two cups a day to manage cholesterol levels. Easy right? : D
    LET’S PRACTICE HEALTHY LIFESTYLE people!

    Nestle Omega Plus Walk-A-Mile 2016

I told myself that I will at least workout 30min – 2 hour at every early in the morning. I used to workout Crossfit and weightlifting 1 hour a day and consistently for almost a year. I was really skinny back then and I would say I manage to get ideal body (with the help of whey protein). However, one year ago, I had an accident when I was in Langkawi for a month. Due to the accident, I could not able to walk for more than 3 months. To make it worst, I gain so much weight due to an unhealthy lifestyle. Now, I’ve totally been recovering and I will try my best to work out at least 30min-2 hour a day. Not to mention my big day will be at the end of the year.
Recently I joined Nestle Omega Plus Walk-A-Mile 2016 at Lake Garden Kuala Lumpur and I totally love it. Actually, I was prepared for some run, then only I realize it is walking event hahaha… One thing for sure, I was so excited because this is my 1st event walk/run hehehe usually I just run on the treadmill.
Do you know that it would take, on average, 1 hour and 43 minutes of walking to burn off a 540-calorie Big Mac.
OMG!!! I just found out this is the 15th event organized by #YayasanJantungMalaysia. It was a fun experience. Thank you #NestleOmegaPlus for organizing #WalkAMile2016. I’m looking forward to next year’s event.
It is important to provide energy throughout our day. A bowl of cereal and 2 cups milk Nestle Omega Plus ® is sufficient to stay energized all day long!

Do you know how important it is to take care of your health?
Every 15 minutes, there is one death caused by heart disease in Malaysia. Although many Malaysians are aware that heart disease is the number one killer in Malaysia, many of us tend to wait until later to address our heart health under the perception that heart disease only affects the elderly. However, research has proven that Malaysians in their thirties have ageing arteries similar to people in their seventies due to their lifestyles. The truth is that Malaysians need to take care of their heart health now instead of later.

There’s plenty of activity were provided by Nestlé Omega Plus® for participants. Not to mention free flow Nestle Omega with cereals and of course Milo. I was very pleased with the activities organized. The most exciting activity is Zumba.

This year marks the 15th year that Nestlé Omega Plus® has organised the annual Walk-A-Mile (WAM) event, in collaboration with Yayasan Jantung Malaysia (YJM). WAM is the longest-running event for heart health advocacy in this country.

“As Malaysia’s heart health advocate, we truly believe that your heart is in your own hands. Heart disease does not happen overnight but through years of living with these habitual risk factors. But the good news is that you could save a life in as little as 15 minutes as brisk walking reduces the risk of high cholesterol, high blood pressure and diabetes,” said Chew Soi Ping, Executive Director, Sales, Nestlé (Malaysia) Berhad, in his welcome speech at the event.

Chew Soi Ping also presented a cheque from Nestlé Omega Plus® totalling RM30,000 to Yayasan Jantung Malaysia (YJM) towards the continuous support on the efforts and dedication of YJM to educate the public on heart health matters.

Managing Cholestrol with Nestle Omega Plus

Regular monitoring and lifestyle changes can help to manage cholesterol levels effectively
The 2015 National Health and Morbidity Survey revealed that 47.7% of Malaysians above 18 years old suffer from high cholesterol levels. This significant increase (from 32.6% in 2011) is quite alarming and further statistics from the report revealed that 38.6% of these adults did not even know that their cholesterol levels were above acceptable levels. This is further compounded by the fact that 94.0% of Malaysian adults did not consume the adequate portion of fruits and/or vegetables as recommended by WHO (5 servings of fruits and/or vegetables daily).

One of the key factors to managing heart health is to understand what cholesterol is and how it works in the body. “Cholesterol is a type of fat that cannot dissolve in our blood. It is transported through our bloodstream by carriers called lipoproteins (lipids and proteins ,” said Cher Siew Wei, Corporate Wellness Manager, Nestlé Malaysia.

“Cholesterol has many important functions in the body, including being part of the cell walls, producing bile acids and hormones and making Vitamin D in your skin,” she added. “Cholesterol can be found mostly in shellfish, prawns, red meat and egg yolk.”

There are two types of lipoproteins: Low density lipoprotein (LDL) or ‘bad’ cholesterol and high density lipoprotein (HDL) or ‘good’ cholesterol. High level of LDL will contribute to blocked arteries and increase the risk of heart disease. On the other hand, HDL helps protect arteries from a build-up of fatty deposits such as plaque, thus reducing the risk of heart disease. It is important to note that the cholesterol consumed from food only has a small effect on bad cholesterol. Saturated and trans fats cause a much greater increase in bad cholesterol.
If high cholesterol levels are not managed, this can result in the build-up of cholesterol plaques that can harden the walls of arteries and block blood flow. Should a cholesterol plaque rupture, this can result in a blood clot forming over the rupture which could cause a heart attack or a stroke.
Everyone above the age of 20 years old should have their cholesterol levels checked at least once every 5 years. More frequent testing may be needed if your initial test results were not within the normal range or if you’re at higher risk of heart disease due to a family history of high cholesterol or heart attack, being overweight or physically inactive, suffer from diabetes, consume a high-fat diet, smoke cigarettes or above 45 years old (for men) or 55 years old (for women).
Simple lifestyle changes can also help to manage cholesterol levels:

    1. Being physically active can help to lower cholesterol levels. Try to exercise on most days of the week and increase your physical activity, for example, by aiming to walk 10,000 steps daily.
    2. By quitting the act of smoking, you can also improve your HDL cholesterol levels and decrease your blood pressure. Maintain
    3. Maintain a healthy body weight with an Ideal BMI between 18.5-24.9
    4. Include plant sterols in your daily diet: 1.2g of plant sterols daily can be easily consumed from 2 servings of Nestlé Omega Plus milk to manage cholesterol levels.

It is only through regular monitoring and prevention that cholesterol levels can be managed effectively as high cholesterol levels do not manifest any signs or symptoms.

The truth about Vape / Electronic Cigarettes with Professor Konstantinos

Last month I had opportunity to Professor Konstantinos to talk about the “truth” of  Vape / Electronic Cigarettes. It’s really interesting to get more knowledge about vape / electronic cigarettes.

Nicotine is not what kills, we have got to start getting the fact right. It is the combustion that kills! So for all smoker friends out there who are thinking to quit, maybe vaping could be a safer & more effective way? Let me know what you guys think.

    More info on Professor’s website –  http://7124participants.net/

If you a smokers, do help me to fill up this survey HERE!

Do you know that there have more than six million smokers in the European Union who have quit smoking and more than 9 million have reduced smoking consumption with the use of electronic cigarettes, according to a study published today in Addiction.

Among his distinctions in the field of research into electronic cigarettes:

    • He was research coordinator and principle investigator in a variety of clinical, laboratory and population studies on electronic cigarettes.
    • He performed the first ever studies evaluating the acute effects of electronic cigarette use on myocardial and arterial function.
    • He performed the first ever studies evaluating the effects of electronic cigarette aerosol exposure on cultured live cells.
    • He performed the first ever studies evaluating electronic cigarette use topography in experienced consumers and in first-time smokers.
    • He performed the largest survey on characteristics, patterns of use, benefits and side effects of electronic cigarette use in dedicated consumers (19,441 participants).
    • He performed the only study evaluating the effect of flavours variability in electronic cigarette use perceived experience.
    • He was the main author in the first scientific literature review on electronic cigarette safety/risk profile.
Scientists from the University of Patras-Greece, Onassis Cardiac Surgery Centre-Greece and the French National Research Institute for Health and Medical Research analyzed the data from the 2014 Eurobarometer on smoking and the use of the electronic cigarettes. According to the study findings, 48.5 million Europeans have ever tried electronic cigarettes, but 7.5 million are current users. Among current users, 35.1% have quit smoking while an additional 32.2% have reduced smoking consumption.

Virtually everyone – including more than 90 percent Malaysian vapers, the study found – agrees that kids should not be vaping, just as they are not allowed to do numerous other things that society as a whole regards as lifestyle choices for grown-ups to make. In the case of Malaysia, licensing retailers would allow law enforcement to track and punish any retailer not complying with the law – just as in other consumer-product sectors.

Balik Raya with Volkswagen Jetta Sport

Do you know what is the best Hari Raya Balik Kampung moment for me this year? Of course, driving back this lovely boy over here. Let me introduce you the Jetta Sport from Volkswagen. Well, there’s few quick things I like about this boy is… Everything. I love the turbo, auto cruise, car boot size, fuel tank capacity and much more.

I will do more review about it on my next post. Allowed me to enjoy my Raya first ya hehehe

Auto Cruise. Travelling back to the south can be very tiring especially when it is more than 300KM. Well, thank you to Jetta Sport from Volkswagen because I could rest my leg by using their Auto Cruise function. It’s really easy, just press the auto cruise button.

Fuel Tank. Travel long journey is no longer an issue when you have a big fuel tank. I don’t need to do a lot of pit stop.

Car boot size. When it comes to Raya, my family and I tend to bring the entire kampung to Singapore. Well, every year my parents will bring a lot of cookies for my relatives.

Till then. Selamat Hari Raya and thank you Volkswagen Malaysia for loan me this car. My family and I totally love it.
