The Gopeng Peanut Search (GPS) was a highly successful event organised by Nomad Adventure that attracted 149 participants from all over Malaysia. As the first ever mountain bike orienteering event ever to be held in Malaysia, the participants truly embraced embracing this new race format.

“I got 410 points in this race, but you race organizers score 100 per cent!” said Wong Swee Song, runner up in the Men’s Veteran Category (41 and above).

The participants thoroughly enjoyed the race format in which they competed to try to get as many “peanuts” or checkpoints as possible in the 5 hour time limit. In total there were 15 check points, each with different points according to the difficulty and distance to get to that checkpoint.
In total over 80 km of trails were marked out by the race technical team headed by Gary Choong and Wong Wye Yim. The trails encompassed a huge variety of terrain, from steep hill climbs to more gentle areas of ex-mining ponds and farms.
