Whenever I went back to Indonesia, especially Bandung, Upin & Ipin is no longer new name for them. In fact, if they found out your are Malaysian, the first thing they will mention is Upin & Ipin. What makes Upin & Ipin is well known in Indonesia, other than their animation quality and marketing, their story telling more to Malaysian “Kampung-Lifestyle” make it easy to adapt by the Indonesian local. Big salute to the team for keeping it up their good work for more than 10 years and they are keep improving.
I had the opportunity to pay them a visit after my 100th Sushi King Restaurant launch at AEON Shah Alam, HERE!
In conjunction of their 10th year anniversary, they have come out with an animated film. I watched their trailer and I totally love it. I’m definitely will going to cinema to show my support of the local industry.
We are so lucky to meet up with some of the character voice talent.
When the company was first established in 2006, Managing Director Haji Burhanuddin and his wife Hajah Ainon targeted to create a simple story that would relate to anyone no matter their age and background. The animation department on the other hand was very eager to showcase their technical skill. So after months of discussion they came to an agreement to produce an adventure story with a Malaysian ‘Kampung‘ background. Thus Les Copaque’s first project “Geng Pengembaraan Bermula” was launched in a ceremony on 11 September 2007, together with a short animated series called “Upin & Ipin” that acted as a supporting role to the movie.
The ideation to produce a short animated series was conceived by Haji Burhanuddin to test the acceptance of 3D animation by Malaysian viewers before releasing “Geng Pengembaraan Bermula”. Since the majority of Malaysians are Muslims, he came out with a plan to create a story about fasting during the month of Ramadhan. Upin & Ipin were chosen as the main cast because they were easy to model and animate; they had no hair (although Upin does have one wiry strand) and possessed the same features. The content and storyline for Upin & Ipin the series was co-written and supervised by Haji Burhanuddin and his wife Hajah Ainon.
I will talk more about their merchandise shop in my next blog post. Stay tuned!
Last Thursday 20.08.09, Students from School of Hospitality Nilai University College have opportunity to spend a little bit their time to meet the Salvation Army kids. We went there from NUC around 12noon and reach there around 3pm. 2 car was involve which is 10 people went to the Salvation Army. 1st car (Me, Eleeza, Andrew, Sacha & Fan) & 2nd car (Shahira, Corliss, Qin, Ng Pia Sun & Joyce). The purpose that we went there is to give the charity money & also to have a great time with the kids. Thanks to those who support our previous event which is make us able to get the profit and gave to them to make them have a better life. Welcome to The Salvation Army Malacca.
The office buildings which is under renovation.
This the only place for them to have fun…can you see the playground condition?
This what they need. Please, those who stay @ Malacca to drop by and donate to them something. Sharing is caring…
On the way to meet the kids. We bought the stuff from Tesco.
We had some light snack with them.
we had a great time there…If can, we want stay longer but the problem is, time…We play a few games with them.
I always thought that I’m the unlucky guy in this world but once I saw them, meet them & know them I felt that I wrong. Even though they lack a lot of thing especially love, they try to find another way to get “love”
Before we left and go to the office to give the money, we had a last chat & picture as sweet memory.
Before we left, suddenly the salvation army kids came out and play @ the playground. Maybe it is their time to have some fresh air…
Nilai University College students & staff who make us have an opportunity to come to here.
Also known as Lighthouse Children’s Home.
We can’t get this much amount if not because of the people who support & attend the our event “NUC2009 Prom Night”. They said they really apperciate it. Thanks guys because support us in the event at the same time you guys do a charity.
Thanks Genting Highlands Golf & Country Resort for the warm welcome and great hospitality. Right after the group photo, I was really excited to experience our next challenge. According to my friend, it is gonna be challenging. Oh well.. I love it!
This is our Awana Genting instructor, Mr Najib that briefed us about our next challenging activity. He is quite good and he kept reminding us that his name is same as our prime minister.
Right after that, Zul takes over and briefs us about our activity for two days in Awana Genting Highlands. He is really friendly and he is gonna get married next year. Hmmm… can see his ring on his finger too =) ~ Congrats Zul!
Time to leave our comfort zone! We headed to the jungle… walking! Lucky we did not need to carry our luggage because Awana Genting are so generous. They brought our luggage to our room.
For those who do not know, Awana Genting also offers SHRDC. It is a Awana Domino Race Knowledge Team Building Programme – Learning on the Run. The interesting part of this activity is that it is a special training that conducted at Awana Genting Highlands Golf & Country Resort where it is sanctuary located at 3,000 feet above sea level. More info, HERE!
So, if you want something different where it is environmentally friendly, this is a good choice.
Rates for Eco Sports Activities are also really affordable. As low as RM25 per adult, you can enjoy a lot of activity such as Nature Trek, Indoor Abseiling, Indoor Rock Climbing, Outdoor Abseiling, Outdoor Flying Fox. More info, HERE!
Nature Trek RM25 per adult; RM15 per child
Indoor Abseiling RM25 per adult; RM15 per child
Indoor Rock Climbing RM25 per adult; RM15 per child
Outdoor Abseiling RM30 per adult; RM20 per child
Outdoor Flying Fox RM25 per adult; RM15 per child
Some of the benefits of abseiling to children are enhancing eye-hand coordination(the sport practices the technique of hand movement precision and visual observation at the same time), development of observation and social skills(proper abseiling training and orientation, combined with keen observation, is the key to a successful and memorable abseiling experience) and confidence building(participants learn to trust in the knowledge that they have been taught and trust skills they have acquired from such learning).
After 30 minutes of walking, we finally reached the abseiling location. For those who do not know, abseiling meaning is to rope down. This sports is an individual sport and it is all about mountaineering to descend a steep slope or vertical drop by a rope secured from above and coiled around one’s body or through karabiners attached to one’s body in order to control the speed of descent. Cool right?
As usual, is all about safety. All of us had a briefing before we went to have our abseiling activity.
This is my first time that I play abseiling and what can I say is… it is really great! Love it!
Did I told you that you do not need to worry about the safety? They not only have a physical support but also moral support haha 😉 This is the main objective of this team building. To support each other and it is all about team work. Glad that I saw all of bloggers help each other even though some of them make them feel more nervous.. but is all about fun right?
If you ask me why abseiling is fun for all ages? It is simple. It is because the abseiling is fairly physically easy and extremely mentally challenging. Haha cool right? For me, my own opinion is among other adventure sports, abseiling is the only one… captures a wider age bracket as compared to climbing, canyoning, mountaineering or white river rafting.
I play white water rafting before and this abseiling quite fun too. Check out some of familiar faces had fun during the abseiling activity!
Woot woot.. they are really having fun! I never bluff you guys right?
So, if you ever to drop by Genting, please drop by at Awana. Since most of people straight went up to Genting. Actually in Awana there are a lot of interesting activities that you can do especially if you love adventure activity.
Haha.. Andi exhausted right after the abseiling activity!
They offer us to do the second round of abseiling. This time all of them walked facing down! Cool!
Some of them even can walk together and chat lulz.
It is actually quite high so for those who think it is not as far as they thought, I suggest you guys experience by yourself.
Scenery of Awana Genting.
Last but not least… Thanks Awana for awesome experience!
That’s tonight gonna be a good night..
