Berjaya University College of Hospitality. Thanks to Xin Ci for the invitation. I had a opportunity to visit Berjaya University since it is in my first list. I will continue study in Bachelor of Event Management. This post it’s not for me to compare between Nilai University College and Berjaya itself. Since Berjaya only for hospitality, that’s why it’s better for hospitality students and also the facilities & equipment better since they have their own hotel.

Hello there! My name is Jan Wong and I’m an online strategist, an advocate for youth entrepreneurship and an entrepreneur myself. I started my very first business at the age of 18, became a Certified E-Commerce Consultant and started my second business at the age of 19. What makes both businesses unique is that it started with zero capital and since the day of inception, zero spent on advertising, but yet sustainable until today.
The secret? Passion, determination, perseverance and through online marketing alone.
I used to give talks and workshops on online marketing and eventually moved into consultation as an online strategist even as a student. I went into college at 17, graduated with my degree in 2009 and was offered to pursue a master’s program right after. People often ask how is it that I am able to juggle between several businesses, studies and church ministries and it is simple, really.
“Your mindset determines the size of the life game you play.”
If you have a vision, believe in it and go out to make it happen! Do not, ever, put it away! Somehow you’ll find that you’re able to juggle through the various responsibilities with appropriate sacrifices with that in mind and that’s also how I made it thus far.
My passion lies in youth entrepreneurship and I’m often looking for opportunities to collaborate with youth projects, to instill in youths the passion to step up, to make things happen. I’ve also represented Malaysia as a business delegate to Thailand, being one of the youngest delegates of the lot among other business owners from all over Malaysia. My passion for youths is also perhaps one of the reasons of why I came up with the recent Malaysia’s Online Fashion Entrepreneurs’ Weekend (MOFEW) – to highlight the online fashion entrepreneurs in Malaysia that is often underestimated and underexposed by the mass public. MOFEW was able to draw a strong crowd of 40,000 visitors throughout the 3-day event at the MVEC, more than 10,000 fans on Facebook within less than 6 weeks, over 500,000 hits monthly on the official site and ranked #1 on Google on several keywords including “fashion entrepreneurs Malaysia” and “online fashion entrepreneurs”.
I’ve been away from the blogosphere for quite some time due several reasons, one of it being the limitations of WordPress.com that often does not load properly on me. Things are different now as I’ve recently launched www.janwong.my on a huge server. On it, I’ll be sharing a lot on my journey, experience and knowledge to inspire others, and at the same time, to be inspired in return. It will definitely be awesome to have you drop by as your support is very much appreciated! 🙂
p.s. thanks feeq, for the opportunity to share my story. do keep up the awesome work!
