Last few weeks, I was invited by Marc_ky to join other bloggers to a food tasting session in Kashmir Cafe SS3. For those who do not know, Kashmir Cafes is well known to be serving delicious Indian food since 1979. I was been informed that the shop close down a few years back as there is some problem with its management/family. After a few years, the family members then revived it to continue its legacy of serving people of SS3.
The recipes that Kahmir Cafe serve are authentic as it can get; using secret house blend spices since 1970’s. Ya, all the herbs and curry are homemade! What they serve here is authentic traditional and Classic South Indian Banana Leaf (Also known as Yelle Sapadeh in Tamil).
The Kashmir Cafe speciality are Briyani and Banana Leaf Set. They serves 3 different types or briyani; Mutton @ Rm12, Chicken @ RM10 and Vegetable @ RM8. We was been informed by the Sashi (owner) that all the briyani rice is cooked together and then cooked again with mutton or chicken to prevent the oil from the meat from mixing with the rice.

Chicken or Mutton? I go for mutton of course. Since it’s food review, so I had both!
The mutton meat is so soft and rich in spices as it’s marinated long enough to taste it. I had a feeling that the Mutton its fried before. Once I had my mutton, there’s a slight crispy bite on one side of it.
Chicken Briyani @ RM10.00
I believe that all of the chicken set are served with drumstick. not like ome other Indian stall where they put breast chicken part on it where it’ tasteless and hard too. The chicken are cooked together with Basmathi fragrant rice to blend in with the herbs and spices. The rice isn’t too oily and yet it doesn’t stick to each other.
Kashmir Special Chicken Masala Thosai/Rava Thosai @ Rm5.90
I’m not really want to try it, but once Marky told us that is the best thosai that he had, I would like to try how good it is and it’s really good! This is a long stretch of thosai wrapping chunks of chicken masala. How big it is? It’s huge! I wish I can eat it with mayonnaise & chili sauce ^^
Fiery Crab Rasam @ Rm1.60
This resam only available on Friday and Sunday. I’m not really like it but some really enjoy it. Maybe because of the rich and strong smell of herbs triggered my taste bud and make me feel cant drink it.
I’m not sure if the Chocolate Fudge Cake and Raspberry Cheese Cake actually sell these at the restaurant but it was good and it was homemade by Sashie sister. Ask them if you guy visit Kashmir Cafe and if they sell it, it’s worth to try!
1: Kiwi Lassi – It 0was slightly greenish in colour with specks of black seeds in it. I believed they ue the fresh and real Kiwi where you can see the seed as well.
2: Citrus/Citron Lassi – It’s a little bit limey/orangey with bits of rind. The lemon taste was awesome!
3: Guava/Soursop Lassi – For me the mixture of soursop and guava is the best Lassi that I had.
4: Strawberry Lassi – I’m not really like to eat strawberry but this Lassi have the strawberry fruit is blended in. A little similar to yogurt but very well sweetened.
5: Mango Lassi – For the mango lassi, I can’t feel any mango fiber when I tasted it, but still its good.
8/10 for the service. Efficient & Friendly.
7/10 for the food quality and quantity. One of the best Indian food that I had.
8/10 for the environment. Cosy interior, clean and comfortable.
