A sight that greets visitors to the island via ferry, the 12 metre-tall statue is one of the island’s most instantly recognizable monuments. Located at the southeast corner of Pulau Langkawi, besides offering beautiful views of Kuah Bay, Dataran Lang has beautiful miniature fountains, terraces and bridges, making it the ideal place for those postcard-perfect holiday photos. The square is a good place to watch ferries ply across the harbour but plan a trip here early in the morning or late in the evening when the sun is at its least intense.

Penang otak-otak is made in the Northern style – a style very much influenced by Thai cooking which has a similar dish known as hor mok – and differs from southern otak-otak in presentation, cooking method and taste.
Helen Cheah learnt he recipe from her mother-in-law who used to run a fruit and rojak stall in Georgetown at the now-defunct Majestic theater. After 40 years, her mother-in-law retired; Helen and husband Loh Moon Kan have been operating Majestic Rojak for past 26 years. The couple move their business to swatow lane four years ago.
Majestic Rojak @ RM4.00. The fruits damn juicy and fresh. The sauce not too sweet and sticky. PEanut minced topped on the fruits make the rojak perfect. Majestic sauce is midly spicy and the rojak is topped with balacan powder, chili powder and finely ground peanuts.
Overall I will vote:
7/10 for the service. Friendly especially aunty who sell the otak-otak.
8/10 for the food quality and quantity of the food excellent. A little bit expensive, but what ou can expect for the best otak-otak among the best.
7/10 for the environment. Just ordinary kopitiam.
